The whole chart. First you see your birth chart drawn out, along with the three signs you probably know already, which are your Sun, your Moon and your rising sign.
Every planet. Next come your other planets, each in its own sign. These are the parts of you that a Sun sign never mentions, and you can see which of them you share with everyone born around the same time.
Your closest contacts. Last come the pairs of planets that sit closest to an exact angle, each measured to the arcminute and shown with how many charts share it. The slower pairs are shared with people born around the same time as you, and each one tells you so.
Precision is the spark that brings your signature to light.
A chart can hold many connections, and a few of them can stand out. I measure each one to find those few: the ones that are unusually close, that repeat, or that join up into a larger shape. Together they make up your signature, the points that make your chart yours.

I built the thing
I couldn't find.
I'm Ian and apparently I'm a Capricorn, but I never got the memo! Since 2020 I've been learning astrology through podcasts, books, YouTube, and online creators. As I learned about aspects, houses, and configurations, I kept trying to work out how each idea applied to my own chart.
I had read about every placement in my chart on its own, and still couldn't tell where to start. I wanted one simple thing: a way to see the important patterns in my chart and have them explained clearly, without having to piece it together from scattered notes.
Many of the creators I learned from no longer offered readings, or were difficult to book. So I built the tool I wished I had when I started. When I measured my chart properly, a few connections turned out to be exact, and three of them joined up into one chain. That was the first time I knew where to look.
As a teenager I wanted to be a cartographer. As a Royal Marines sniper I learned to interpret the land, and as a nutritional therapist I learned to map someone's case history, the naturopathic way, back to its root cause. Astrology drew me in the same way: through the numbers, the geometry, and the patterns that only appear once everything is plotted.
Mapping the planets speaks to that same passion, and what I want most is to bridge the two, land and sky, so that the person standing in between can understand themselves a little better. And that started with me.

What is Precision Astrology?
It's a way of looking at your natal chart. It looks for the closest aspects, which are the planets sitting nearest to an exact angle, and at how they shape your signature, the points that make your chart yours. Each one is measured against 100,000 random charts, so you can see what's genuinely uncommon and what isn't. Think of it as a starting point that shows you where to look first.
Do I need to know astrology?
Not at all. This is built for people who are curious but don't have the vocabulary yet. The free chart explains what it shows as it goes, and a reading is written in everyday language.
What do I get from the free chart?
You'll see your birth chart drawn out, with your Sun, Moon and rising sign explained in plain words and each of your other planets in its sign. You'll also see your closest aspects, each with a measured figure for how many charts share it, and if a larger pattern in your chart is genuinely uncommon, you'll see that too. We don't keep your details, and there's no account to set up.
Do I need my exact birth time?
For the fullest picture, yes, because it sets your rising sign and the angles of the chart. If you don't have it, you'll still see your Sun and Moon (and both possible Moon signs, if the Moon changed sign that day), and a reading can still work from the planets.
What does a reading add?
The free chart shows you the pieces and where to look first. A reading takes in your whole chart and explores what it might mean for you, chapter by chapter. It is created for your chart alone, and it arrives in a private learning portal, where you can ask questions about it.
What if I don't really believe in astrology?
You don't need to. Where the planets were, and the angles between them, are calculated rather than believed. What those angles mean is interpretation, which is a separate layer. You're welcome to treat a reading as a symbolic frame to hold against your own experience, and to set aside anything that doesn't fit.
